The software company signs an agreement with NUVIZ, an augmented reality startup, continuing its expansion into this new industry.
Helsinki, Finland – March 13, 2017 – Tuxera, the world-leading storage and networking technology company, announced that it has signed a deal with NUVIZ, a US and Finland based company developing augmented reality and head-up display (HUD) solutions for motorcycling and powersports applications. By working directly with innovative startup companies, Tuxera envisions it is building long-term relations with the most influential companies of the future.
“There’s no place for a status quo in the tech industry. That’s why we continue to actively work with startups. We’re very excited about our partnership with NUVIZ, as it allows us to learn more about the file system needs for augmented technologies,” says Mikko Välimäki, CEO of Tuxera.
According to the Markets & Markets report, the augmented reality (AR) market size will reach USD 56.8 billion by 2020. AR is a new market for Tuxera, but the company sees great potential within this technology and is actively assessing the industry’s current early adopters.
File systems built for AR
AR systems must process, analyze, and store large chunks of data, which creates a need for a high-end combination of hardware and software that is compatible with multiple storage formats to deliver on these requirements.
By working directly with NUVIZ, Tuxera plans to expand its understanding of how state-of-the-art file systems can bring the biggest benefit to the industry. These insights will allow Tuxera to offer optimized software solutions configured specifically for AR, making it a storage technology leader within this new growing market.
Aiming for the future
Tuxera creates high-performance, fail-safe, reliable storage software – designed specifically for flash memory – that allows hardware devices to work at peak potential. The company already has an active presence in growing industries such as smart cars, drones, and action cameras, and is actively looking for new areas that could benefit from its advanced software technologies.
