Announces Instant Pre-Boot Applications
Helsinki, Finland – December 18, 2013 – Tuxera Inc., the market leader in the interoperable file system technologies today announced it has joined UEFI (Unified Extensible Firmware Interface) Forum, a non-profit standards body for companies in the personal computer industry. Tuxera brings new software solutions to quickly backup and restore volume images and browse volume contents under UEFI pre-boot environment, creating a powerful pre-boot platform for for Windows, Android and other operating systems as well as for dual boot systems such as hybrid laptops running both Windows and Android.
UEFI Forum develops specifications for a new model of interface between the personal computer operating systems and platform firmware. It aims at a smooth, modern environment for booting operating systems and running pre-boot applications. UEFI is replacing the legacy BIOS technology adding support across multiple interfaces, which ensures more a fully secure system, faster boot times, and more possibilities for pre-boot development.
