Post 64 kB cluster support?
Hi, I installed ntsf-3g - all seems to be OK, except big cluster support. I have some special hardisk for music recordings with bigger clusters (64 kB). I cannot browse this disc after mount via ntfs-3g. I had to reboot to win, convert this test drive to standard 4kB clusters and reboot back to Linux. Everything is OK with this smaller size.
But I know - it's untypical HDD settings, only for musicians etc...

Versions: Kubuntu 6.10/ ntfs-3g 20060920-0/ubuntu2 HDD:ata

Thnx

Slavek

Hi. All NTFS cluster sizes (powers of 2 from 512 bytes upto 64 kB) are
constantly tested with ntfs-3g and always worked. Your problem should have
been something else. Please let us know more details if you have any
problem with the 64 kB cluster size.

Szaka

Strange - I do nothing more than convert cluster size to 4kB and boot Kubuntu. But I have my main recording sata 160 GB disc with 64 kB cluster size, I can try to mount it tomorrow (but without conversion).

Hi Slavek. There was indeed a problem with big cluster sizes. The created directories weren't readable on Windows unless chkdsk was run. This is fixed and a patch is available at http://www.ntfs-3g.org/big-cluster-size-fix.diff

A new driver will be released also as soon as the quality testing finishes. Thank you for the bug report!
