ERROR: Couldn't open inode : No such file or directory
However, everything seems to be working. Should I just count my blessings and ignore the error?

What OS X version of NTFS-3G do you use? From where did you download it?
There is no such error message in NTFS-3G. The closest is a debug printout which means you don't have hiberfil.sys. This case can be safely ignored and the debug message mustn't be logged as error. Something seems to be wrong in your driver packaging.

I got NTFS-3G from http://macntfs-3g.blogspot.com/. It was build NTFS-3G 1.1120 [stable] which is said to be for OS X 10.5. I am running OS X 10.5.1.
