Post It's SO slow! Tuxera bogging down my entire system!
I have 10.6.8.

I've been searching through an old windows drive and copying stuff out just fine before installing the latest trial.
I installed it because I needed to create a couple of folders.
At first it was great, but now my ENTIRE system is crawling.
I can barely even resize windows.

I tried disabling caching.
Tried completely disabling tuxera.

Anything else to try before I uninstall?

I been using Tuxera for a while and never had any issue like that. I do doubt it's tuxera slowing your system. Sounds like another issue. Tuxera doesn't touch HFS+ drives.

Are you sure tuxera caching the ntfs drives isn't effecting os preformance?

Maybe I didn't give it enough time after disabling caching or maybe I should have restarted afterwards, but as soon as I completely removed tuxera my os flies again. I tried installing it again and got the same results. I can even make a screen capture of this happening so I'm pretty sure it's directly related.

Some others experience a slow system with it too. http://forums.macrumors.com/showthread.php?t=878962

I just use the default options, which has caching enabled. I never disabled it because you do get better performance with it enabled.

The only issue I have, and this has nothing to do with Tuxera, I used to have my downloads folder shared on my NTFS drive. If you try to execute an app on an NTFS drive, the system will lock up. Since then I keep my windows and osx downloads separate.

Could that be your problem? Are you executing an app on an NTFS drive?

It is very slow on boot for me taking at least 20 seconds without the finder apearing with its desktop.
This happened when I tried ntfs3g on Lion without knowing about Tuxera and it could not open the bootcamp drive, i guess that was a timeout.
Now on Tuxera it’s the same. I would buy this but not with this almost half minute wait at startup. Any workaround?

I'm having a similar issue. Since I installed Mountain Lion and updated Tuxera it regularly takes 50% of my CPU.

Anyone else encounter this? Basically the program is worthless if this isn't fixed.

Since upgrading to Mountain Lion, using NTFS formatted drives has been terribly slow for me as well. I removed and reinstalled Tuxera, but to no avail.

I have a solution for the CPU usage. Turns out is not tuxera but Spotlight indexing the HDD. What I did was go to System Preferences => Spotlight and go to the Privacy Tab and add the HDD, so spotlight ignores it.

Anyway that solved my problem, hope it works for you guys.

Jose.
