Problems with Parallels VM on NTFS-formatted Firewire drive
Hi!
I have trouble using virtual machines that are located on an external Firewire drive (MacOSX 10.7, Parallels Desktop 7, TuxeraNTFS 2011.4.2). I can copy a VM from my Mac HD to the FW drive and import and run the VM, but eventually (say a few days later) the VM won't boot and stop with an error message (winXp". Error ID: PRL_ERR_disk_read_failed (80021029), errno=34 (result to large)) and console will give the following message:
11/3/11 10:22:57.795 AM tuxera_ntfs: Run lists overlap. Cannot merge: Result too large 11/3/11 10:22:57.795 AM tuxera_ntfs: ntfs_attr_pread error reading '/Windows XP locale (1).pvm/Windows XP test-0.hdd/Windows XP test-0.hdd.0.{5fbaabe3-6958-40ff-92a7-860e329aab41}.hds' at offset 6775615488: 12288 <> -1: Result too large
However, mounting the FW drive on native Windows 7 and subsequent disk repair finds errors and makes the drive usable again.
