Post NTFS 3G Volume Name character limit problem
I am using the latest version of NTFS 3G for Mac to format some 1TB hard drives to NTFS. For some reason the Name field in disk utility has a character limit of 11. We wanted to create a name with more than 11 characters. At first this seemed to be a limitation of the NTFS format option and not the MAC OS Extended format options.

What I discovered was that if you choose a MAC OS Extended format and type in the Name you want for the partition (longer than 11 characters) you can then choose the NTFS format option and it will allow you to use the name which is longer than 11 characters.

I'm hoping that Tuxera can fix this and allow the NTFS volume name to be longer than 11 characters.
