Hi,

Linux distributors adapt packages to their methodology, so basic instructions are distro-dependent. But ntfs-3g generally is installed by default by most recent distros so you should not even be aware of if.

To help you, I have to understand what you are wanting to do, and in what step you fail.

- Which distribution are you using ?
- Do you use Windows on the same computer ?
- Do you know what kind of partitions you have ?
- What are you expecting from ntfs-3g ?
- What are you failing to do (or what you cannot do because you do not understand how to) ?

Regards

Hi,

To help you efficiently we really need information about your configuration. What distribution ? How are your disks organized ?
Why do you think your problem is related to ntfs-3g ?

Can you paste the contents of /etc/fstab ?

and paste the result of the command :
/sbin/swapon -s

i can't understand the commands at the console..
should i type the directory of the folder and then configure like this
"/home/spiros166/ntfs-3g-1.2506 configure"
or i always type this"./configure"
when i type the second it says

    spiros166@spiros166-desktop:~$ ./configure
bash: ./configure: No such file or directory
    spiros166@spiros166-desktop:~$

when i type the directory it says
    spiros166@spiros166-desktop:~$ /home/spiros166/ntfs-3g-1.2506 configure
    bash: /home/spiros166/ntfs-3g-1.2506: is a directory
    spiros166@spiros166-desktop:~$ make
make: *** No targets specified and no makefile found. Stop.
    spiros166@spiros166-desktop:~$

what am i doing wrong??
