I downloaded a tails iso image (800 MB via firefox 13.0)
The I tested the integrity with
$>gpg --verify tails-i386-0.12.iso.pgp tails-i386-0.12.iso
- it failed.
Then I checked the sha256 sum - it was ok.
Then I checked the pgp -again and now it is ok too.

The file was storedon an external USB drive at a NTFS-3g partition:
$> mount | grep sdb4
/dev/sdb4 on /mnt/E type fuseblk (rw,noexec,nosuid,nodev,noatime,allow_other,blksize=4096,default_permissions)

$> grep -i ntfs /etc/fstab
/dev/sdb4 /mnt/E ntfs-3g auto,user,noatime,uid=tfoerste,gid=users,umask=0022,locale=en_US.utf8


I'm running a stable Gentoo with sys-fs/ntfs3g-2012.1.15-r1 and use this settings :

echo 3000 > /proc/sys/vm/dirty_writeback_centisecs

What did you do exactly ? Was the downloading done by a background process ?

How did you ensure the computation was done after the downloading was completed ?

What is this supposed to do ? Does this have an effect on the synchronization between read cache and write cache ?
